Course Description Data associated with points, lines and areas on Earth’s surface
(“spatial
data”) are
commonly encountered in geography and the other environmental sciences. Census observations, climate data and
land-use information are examples.
Analyses of such data usually require special considerations. This course introduces both visual (mapping
and graphical) and statistical approaches to analyzing spatial data. Methods are implemented through the
development and use of Fortran programs (pre- or co-requisite GEOG 250). |
